Step Study

I have tried to get traffic going over on the step work board and it just isn't that active.  I was thinking we could do a step a month (or more) here focusing on codependency.  I have done the steps through the Codependents' Guide to the 12 steps by Melody Beattie and taken a sponsee through it.  I highly recommend it.

Thoughts?

I'm in.     Is this a different book then codependent no more? I have done steps more then I can count the AA way, and I think its helped a little in this area, but no where near enough. I just realised last night that in my fear inventory when I look at " when it made us coky it was worse " might not really be cokiness but codependent /  counterdependent.    The word Im trying to write is not coky, the site wont let me write it correctly for some reason... I guess there is some kind of profane protection, any way step study is an awsome idea..

I'm in, I would LOVE to participate on a forum that A) had traffic and B) focused on Solution

I'm not here to whinge about "someone else's actions", I'm here to get better, what better way then to get rolling on some actual stepwork?

Tricia,
Would love to be a part of this.  Will we be using:  Codependents' Guide to the 12 steps by Melody Beattie?

When I study the steps I use a pretty large stack of books - but that book is my personal favorite and is well worn, highlighted and margins are full.

I don't want to dominate things here with my bias - so if others have a preference - please speak up.  We can do whatever.

So - my vote Mike - is yes.  I would love to hear if others have preferences or suggestions.

Let's plan on starting 3/14 regardless of what book we decide on so everyone has the opportunity to obtain the materials.

Thanks everyone!

Steve, I mentioned this in another thread but alibris.com has used books at very good prices. I got a copy for less than $5 and some copies were under $2. I've bought a lot of the Taoist literature I've read from them and have never had a bad experience.

Hi Free,

I will be posting the synopsis to the Intro of "Codependent's Guide to the Twelve Steps" tonight.  Nothing needed to take part - just share your ES&H.

Next week we will to the first chapter - haven't read ahead . . . but I assume it is Step 1 smile.gif.  I will again post a synopsis of the chapter and we can all share our ES&H over the week.

Really looking forward to it.
