I'm over on the Al-Anon board and I've been lurking around here periodically ever since John posted about the new CoDA board. Lots of things that I read have been resonating with me, so I figure I should hang out here more often.
Long story short, I'm the daughter of two alcoholic parents (mother now deceased, father still active and in denial) and the partner of a recovering alcoholic. I recognize that my upbringing left me with some deeply entrenched patterns of feeling/thinking/behaving that are pretty dysfunctional, and I want to change that.
I haven't really looked at codependency in any depth for about 20 years (my first brief attempt at recovery) but I'll welcome any extra insight that I can get. Guess I'll have to dust off my Beattie book.
