What have I learned?

After surviving a tragic relationship ending, and learning about my codependency issues afterwards. Here are some things I have learned thus far in my journey.

I’ve learned that everybody lies, hoping to be perceived as innocent.

I’ve learned nothing last forever.

I’ve learned what I think is important, really is not.

I’ve learned life is nothing but a dream.

I’ve learned my expectations are seldom met.

I’ve learned just when I think I have life figure out, life presents a much greater challenge.

I’ve learned I’m right where I need to be now.

I’ve learned there is nothing to fear.

I’ve learned I easily distract myself into a fear base situation.

I’ve learned I’m loved, more than I can comprehend.

I’ve learned nothing happens without a reason.

I’ve learned no one but me, can fix my issues.

I’ve learned forgiveness is the only way out.

I’ve learned just how alone I really am.

I’ve learned the concept is simple, but the application is hard due to wavering trust.

I’ve learned there are no accidents.

I’ve learned every day I get a do over and start with a clean slate.

I know when I finally learn to live the concept fully everyday in my life. I will have a good belly laugh with GOD, over all the foolishness I went through during my so called life.

Peace

Here are my immediately thoughts to you list:

I’ve learned that everybody lies, hoping to be perceived as innocent. (True and I have been working feverishly to stop.  I am someone people consider blatantly honest and I still lie ... mostly to myself.  I am reading Lying by Sam Harris.)

I’ve learned nothing last forever. (VERY true)

I’ve learned what I think is important, really is not.  (True, especially in light of the item above)

I’ve learned life is nothing but a dream.  (Also true.  It is just a figment of our perceptions.)

I’ve learned my expectations are seldom met.  (Good reason to let them go. )

I’ve learned just when I think I have life figure out, life presents a much greater challenge.  (Everything ok?)

I’ve learned I’m right where I need to be now.  (Isn't that GREAT?)

I’ve learned there is nothing to fear.  (Isn't that BETTER THAN GREAT?)

I’ve learned I easily distract myself into a fear base situation.  (Me too)

I’ve learned I’m loved, more than I can comprehend.  (I hope that is true for me as well)

I’ve learned nothing happens without a reason.  (Not sure I agree with this one.  But I am not a believer in God or fate so my disagreement makes sense.  I do believe that our intentions and actions have a lot to do with our outcomes.)

I’ve learned no one but me, can fix my issues. (Bravo!  I believe the same.)

I’ve learned forgiveness is the only way out.  (But man, is it tough!)

I’ve learned just how alone I really am.  (We all are.  I wonder why we fight it so much.)

I’ve learned the concept is simple, but the application is hard due to wavering trust.   (Trust, that is probably at the top of my list of things I struggle with.  I trust people to hurt me, that's about it.)

I’ve learned there are no accidents.  (I wish that was true.)

I’ve learned every day I get a do over and start with a clean slate.  (Yay!  Me too.  Actually there are times I stop in the middle of my day and decide to start fresh.)

Thank you Fap123!

Willing
