Hello, I am a newb, and a codependent. I wanted to begin attending CODA meetings, but can't find any near. There are Alanon meetings nearby, most of my closest relationships including family have been addicts/alcoholics so I am thinking I should just go to Alanon. Have no idea what it entail but my life is mismanageable and I need to begin working on myself. Any insight?
What about on-line meetings? Is that a viable option for you? I go to meetings on this site, which are available every day. There are people from all over the world that attend here and it's very welcoming and friendly.

Also there are Facebook groups available if you do a search on Facebook. Please do be careful about revealing your name etc though. I use a pseudonym with a false Facebook account.
I have made considerable progress in recovery from my codependent stinkin' thinkin' as a grateful member of Al-Anon. It sounds like you have plenty of qualifiers anyway. To me, the fellowships are more alike than different, and Al-Anon has a rich collection of literature.
