Hi y'all...

               ...I am pinning this link below- because I believe it is an honest critique of the 12 Step movement. Relates highly to AA, in particular.

In my 20's I flip-flopped from one relationship to another. And i got worse. While I lived in the city- my last two girlfriends had done jail time.

That is not to criticise or to condemn them. I still recall their names, and the time we spent together. But the pattern was there, derived from my own family experience. I thought I could fix them. biggrin ...

Having said that about the 12 Step groups- it is essential that we have group ethics- that are robust and fair.

Group therapy run by professionals might be a luxury for many people. I like being around group- online and F2F that are robust and functional.

I think that a lot of us "go through the mill" with groups. Face more chaos, at the very least, within ourselves.

But, looking back- I feel now that that was the 'way in'. A place where i could begin to trust.
