That has been the question on my mind lately. Someone is treating my daughter poorly and mama bear is roaring! To see her hurting just tears my heart out and I look at her and how wonderful of a person she is and wonder "How could someone treat her this way? She is an amazing human being!"
My next thought was ...
"Why didn't I used to think that about myself? I was/am no less amazing. If I had defended myself the way I want to defend my daughter I would have avoided so much pain."
I am proud of her, she is holding her boundaries and speaking her truth ... but pain in inevitable at times and unhealthy people hurt us. But boy, is it difficult to watch and stay out of. It is her life.
I am glad I have finally learned to love and treasure myself as much as I do her. I am worth it.
