Was journaling today and here is what I came up with. Would love to hear from others. It was pretty empowering. What do you owe ... or NOT owe?
I owe myself love and respect. I owe others courtesy and compassion. I owe those who depend on me dependability and responsibility. I owe myself care and boundaries with those that depend on me. I owe myself happiness. I owe myself honesty. I owe others honesty. I owe myself the work it takes to grow in all ways. I owe others the work it takes to earn respect. I owe myself care, nurturing, and protection. I owe myself trust. I owe myself to let others earn my trust. I owe myself to behave with integrity. I owe myself to protect myself from people who do not act with integrity. I owe myself fun. I owe myself an apology for the hurt I have inflicted upon myself.
I DO NOT owe anyone their own happiness. I DO NOT owe anyone respect if they have not earned it. I DO NOT owe anyone respect for themselves. I DO NOT owe anyone the ability to care for themselves. I DO NOT owe anyone an apology for hurting me. I DO NOT owe anyone my power. I DO NOT owe anyone my trust if they have lost it. I DO NOT owe anyone help unless they are willing to help themselves. I DO NOT owe anyone my body because they say they love me. I DO NOT owe anyone my desire unless they have earned it. I DO NOT owe anyone an apology for owning my truth. I DO NOT owe anyone an apology for taking care of myself.
