17th January 2012. I wonder why "listening" isn't taught in school. No one taught me how to listen; often I felt nobody listened to me. I didn't know how to listen to others or even to myself. Since I've attended meetings, I'm learning to listen to others - really listen, instead of worrying what they're thinking of me. I hear the words & feelings. I notice how it feels to be heard. When I'm heard, I feel validated & I'm more open to hearing others. It's a wonderful circle. CoDA Daily Meditation.
